ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..The Perfect Fit
Submitted By:..Anonymous

The Perfect Fit,

It was the day before I was to start my junior year of high school. It was a beautiful day outside, but I was too busy feeling sorry for myself to notice. We didn't have much money. Everything I earned, I gave to my parents. Just once I wanted a new dress for the first day of school. I was pacing in my room feeling very depressed. Then I heard a voice say, "Why do you fret so? Remember the lilies of the fields. Are you not more important than they?" I answered, "Yes." Then I felt very peaceful and happy. A few minutes later, I heard a car drive up and a lady talking to my mother. After the car drove off, my mother called me downstairs. A lady had a bag of clothes. She told my mother she had bought them for her daughter, but her daughter didn't like them. She was going to throw the dresses away, but had an overpowering urge to bring them to our house. We never saw that lady again. In the bag were five dresses. They still had the price tags on them. I am very short; I have to hem everything. Those dresses were my size and the right color for my complexion. Most surprising, I didn't have to hem them.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..Cleaning Lady
Submitted By:..Anonymous

Cleaning Lady,

Years ago, when I was only about two years old, I was in the hospital suffering from a Roto-virus. My parents would take turns staying in the room with me. Well, one day my mom was in there, not in the best mood and thinking how gross the place smelled (we were children after all, and diapers don't usually produce a nice fragrance).

Anyway, this woman came into the room and was cleaning the diaper pans and doing the "dirty work." She turned to my mom and said, "You're a Christian, aren't you?," to which my mom replied, "Yes, I am; how did you know?" "I can just tell" said the lady, "You radiate." My mother says she was in no way radiating that day as she was cranky and somewhat disheveled. The woman smiled and told her, "He'll be alright" and walked out of the room.

It would still be a few days before I got out of the hospital, and during that time, my mom asked the nurses who that lady was and tried to describe her. They didn't know who she was talking about. As far as they knew, there was no lady by that description. An angel? My parents and I believe she was.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..God's Little Angel
Submitted By:..Robert

God's Little Angel,

Last night, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed about a little angel and this is what he said.

"Hello, Daddy. Since I am calling long distance, I have only a minute or two to talk. I'm in Heaven, a place that's so fine. You have heard that worldly possessions are greater than mine. But if you knew what it is like up here, you would shout with joy and cheer. The lame are walking. The blind can see. But, what I miss most, daddy, is you being with me.

I am being called now. But, I will visit you, again. So, please don't you cry. If you knew what it is like up here, you would wear a big smile. To serve unto Him, to live by Him, is the greatest thing of all. Daddy, are you one of them?"

Suddenly, I awoke from the dream with tears streaming down my face. While sitting on the side of the bed, I turned on the light and slowly made my way to the kitchen for a drink of water and to wash my face. Then, I walked back to the bedroom, sat down on the bed, took another drink of water, and turned out the light.

I laid my head down on my pillow and stretched out my arm. Doing this, my hand touched something that rattled. It gave me a shock! For, there was nothing on the bed beside me earlier in the night.

Sitting up, quickly, I reached over and turned the light on very carefully. Then, I turned and looked at the pillow beside me. There laid a small baby rattle, just like the one that I placed beside him on the day we laid him to rest.

I thought that, maybe, he needed something to play with on his journey. I knew that there would be other children there, too. But, I wanted him to have something to remember me by.

As I sat there, looking at that rattle, I knew that my dream was real. Tonight, I had a visit from God's Little Angel.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..My Headaches Are Gone
Submitted By:..Buddy

My Headaches Are Gone,

A few years ago, I was suffering from severe headaches. I became so sensitive to sound and light that I would have to sometimes shut myself into my bedroom with no light or sound to escape the pain. Even the tiny sound of a spoon bumping against the side of a teacup was enough to cause actual physical pain in my head. I know that sounds strange, but it really was my experience.

I think the worst was the day when "empty" spots appeared in my vision and then a zigzag line appeared in the upper left-hand corner of my vision. I nearly panicked at that one! I went to a doctor who prescribed a drug to calm me down. He told me to take a pill every time I felt a headache coming on, not to wait for it to hit. This helped, but I soon realized that I didn't want to live my life popping a pill every time I felt a headache coming on.

Eventually, I sought the help of a very special therapist who taught me how to relax and meditate. (Guides come in every shape and form.) This is really where my angel story beings. I was told to meditate twenty minutes every morning and then again in the evening. I had a couple of "interesting" experiences during these times of meditation. The one I'd like to share took place during lunch while I was a work.

The morning had been a rough one and I had the sensation that a golf-ball size knot was in the back of my head. It really felt like a ball had gotten stuck in there! I lowered the lights in my room (I'm a school teacher) and began my meditation. Soon I could feel the presence of a person standing next to me as I sat in my chair at my desk. The "odd" part is that I felt that the presence was a male and he inserted his hand into my head, wrapped his fingers around this knot and physically withdrew his hand removing the ball in the process. Immediately, the pain stopped! The sensation of him inserting and removing his hand was an odd one. I still clearly remember that feeling.

Well, I continued my meditations and I am grateful to say that I have not had any headaches for more than three years and I don't take pills to calm me down either!

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..Dad's Guardian Angels
Submitted By:..Ginger

Dad's Guardian Angels,

My Dad was coming to visit me one rainy, dreary day. He is 76 years old. He had to come across a mountain road with hardly any traffic. He got very sleepy and had to pull off the road to take a short nap. He said he went to sleep and thought he heard someone pecking on the window glass. He opened his eyes and looked in front of his pickup truck. He saw two beautiful girls about 25 or 30 years old with beautiful hair and dresses on. There were no cars or anyone around anywhere. He said he shut his eyes tightly after seeing them and opened them and they were gone. He says he knows they were guardian angels watching over him while he took a nap on a lonely road to protect him.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..Gerry's Angel
Submitted By:..Gerry

Year of event: 1960,

Place of event: Spring Bank Repatriation Hospital/Adelaide/ South Australia.
Reason for admittance: Pleurisy and pneumonia.

I was in a bad way. Nearly every night someone passed away. On those occasions, they always put screens around the patient's bed, so not to disturb others. One night, I came to and saw four doctors and one nurse standing at the foot end of my bed. Screens had been put around and I perceived one of the doctors shaking his head. I then must have lost consciousness again. I woke up at some stage during the night because someone took my hand and gently stroked it. I felt a weight on my bedside as if someone was sitting down. I forced my eyes open. There was the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Long blond tresses, eyes like Ceylonese sapphires, a robe, which seemed to have been spun from the purest white cotton interwoven with silver threads and pulsating as if with neon light. Around the waist was a golden girdle. The person smiled and nodded to me, patting my hand as if to say everything would be ok. Then I lost consciousness again, but before that, I had pinched myself hard to know whether I was dreaming or not.

Next morning, the female doctor came in and spoke to me, saying: "Last night we would not have given two pence for you." I replied that I knew. She said that I could not know anything because I was more dead than alive. She was amazed when I described the scene with the four doctors, she was one of them and the nurse standing there and the screens around my bed. I then told her, I was enraptured by the night nurse who had come to my bedside. She asked: "What, the little Yorkshire lass?" (who was short with dark brown hair). I told her what I had seen. She told me not to speak about it, because people would not understand, but, and she went on, many people had related the same experience just before they passed away, as had those who had been close to death but recovered.

That is when I started to ponder on what I had experienced. I did not think of an angel at the time. If I would have, and if it would have been my imagination, the being would have had wings. This one had not. I was a young soldier then and did not concern myself with spirit beings. Now I am convinced that what I had seen was an angel. I had been awake, I had pinched myself hard, I know it was real. I hope my story may be of comfort to others.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..The Rainbow Of Promise
Submitted By:..Anonymous

     The Rainbow Of Promise,

I was very tired when I came to the Cradle Roll Room that night to prepare for the morning class. I was going to see if I could find the rainbow felt set that I needed for one part of the program that we would present in the morning. We were teaching the children about God's beautiful rainbow of promise. "I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth." Genesis 9:13.

The felt rainbow set includes a beautiful large rainbow to be placed on the flannel board. Then, there are little rainbows with pipe cleaner attachments that the children hold up as they sing:

God made the beautiful rainbow I know, I know. God made the beautiful rainbow because He loves me so.

We stored all the felt material, extra stuffed animals and other items in the closet. The items were all placed in boxes and neatly stacked from floor to ceiling. The boxes were labeled all right, but the problem was that the labels on the boxes outside did not always match the contents inside. If you were looking for something, you had to look in almost all the boxes to find what you were looking for.

I was in no mood to look in every box in the closet that night. I rebuked myself for wanting to get things organized, but never getting around to doing it. My mind was weary and my heart was heavy as I opened and surveyed the closet. The enormity of this task loomed before me like a great avalanche waiting to crush me. I didn't know where to begin.

As always when in a predicament like this, I turned to The Lord for help. I said: "Please, Lord, help me find the rainbow set. I'm tired. I don't want to be here all night looking for it. Please, Lord, help me, help me, help me..."  It was a short prayer said in desperation. Instinctively, I reached out for a box, any box, and opened it. To my amazement and joy, the rainbow set was in that box.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for helping me find the felt rainbow set. Just as you have placed the bow of promise in the sky many, many years ago, tonight you have placed a special rainbow in my heart--a token of Your love and care. Should I ever lose my way--my faith, my hope, my love, and my joy--direct me once again to Your Rainbow of Promise. And someday, Lord, through Your grace, I will see You and the Rainbow around Your Great White Throne.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..'Till The Storm Passes By
Submitted By:..Mosie

'Till The Storm Passes By,

Hurricane Elena was developing in strength and intensity and was heading toward North Florida, our travel destination. We kept an eye on the weather report on the radio as we packed clothes and books in our suitcases. Outside, the sun was shining and the sky was clear, a typically beautiful day in Yuma, Arizona, but my heart was sad and heavy. Living with an alcoholic and an abusive husband had brought great sorrow and turmoil into my life, much like the dark and menacing storm brewing on the other side of the continent.

I know that it's human nature to repress the painful, excruciating details of our lives, yet it is important to keep fresh in our minds the wonderful intervention of God in making the painful experiences less painful.

I remember a favorite quotation from a book entitled Steps to Christ: "Let us keep fresh in our memory all the tender mercies that God has shown us--the tears He has wiped away, the pains He has soothed, the anxieties removed, the fears dispelled, the wants supplied, the blessings bestowed,--thus strengthening ourselves for all that is before us through the remainder of our pilgrimage."

Because of abuse in the home and our constant presence at a home for battered women and children, my young son was temporarily placed in a foster home. To get him out, the State of Arizona required me to divorce Gary, his step dad, and move away. We left Gary and rented an apartment until we could leave Arizona. At this point, I suspected Gary had left town to be with his parents.

"Mama, I hardly have any clothes to pack." I heard my son lamenting in his room. "I know because most of our things were at the house, and the church people came and put them in storage, remember?" "Yes, I remember now," he said sorting through his books trying to decide which to read on the plane. "When you're done, please help Grandma, okay?" "I sure will, Mama," came his reply.

Before we left Yuma, I checked the airlines to make sure the flight to Florida was not cancelled because of the imminent storm. It wasn't, and I heaved a sigh of relief. We were on our way to Florida to stay with my sister Ruth and her family.

For this trip, I made special arrangement for a wheelchair for my aged mother, who used a walker to get around. She had recently come to stay with us temporarily. So, between my Mother in the wheelchair and five large suitcases filled with books, this trip proved to be the hardest trip I have ever taken--physically, not to mention mentally and emotionally.

We stopped in Phoenix for a connecting flight to Denver. According to our itinerary, we would board Frontier Airline in Denver to Florida. But now, they were telling me in Phoenix that the Frontier flight to Florida was cancelled because of the storm. What am I going to do now? I asked myself greatly troubled and frustrated. We didn't have extra money with us for motels, taxi cabs, tips, etcetera.

There were three options to consider: Go back to Yuma, go to Denver with the possibility of being stranded at the airport, or go to San Diego and stay with my brother until further arrangements could be made.

The decision was not easy to make, and there wasn't enough time to evaluate the options before the plane was to leave. If we went back to Yuma, there was no place for us to stay, except maybe with one of the church members. But I didn't really want to do this. The church people had already done so much for us; I did not want to impose on them further. Going back to San Diego meant Gary would be close enough to harass us still. After contemplating these options, I decided the best thing to do was go on to Denver and then to Florida.

The flight from Phoenix to Denver was most distressing to me. I must have said a thousand prayers, but peace eluded me. I continued to allow questions, doubts, worries, and uncertainties to plague my mind and chase away the faith I had in my Heavenly Father--Where are we going to stay in Denver? We don't know a soul there. Maybe, we'll just sleep at the airport. The thought of sleeping at the airport with strangers around frightened me.

I turned to my Mother, and she looked at me and smiled. "Don't worry, The Lord will work things out for good," she said. That's just like Mother, I thought. She had an abiding faith in God. But how frail she looked. The emotional stress she went through staying with us in Yuma had taken its toll on her. I could tell that this trip was wearing her out. I blamed myself for exposing her to grief, heartache and sorrow in the sunset years of her life.

And my son Michael? Poor little guy--what I put him through. I shall never forget the night I went to his room to tuck him in. I felt something hard as I sat on his bed. "Mike, why are you going to sleep with your shoes on?" I asked. "Oh, Mama, I just wanted to make sure I have my shoes on if we have to leave the house in a hurry."

I felt a dart pierce my heart, and a lump caught in my throat. Should Gary get mad about something and chase us out of the house, my son wanted to be prepared for flight.

Then there was the night he locked us out of the house in the dead of winter. "What are we going to do, Mama?" My son asked greatly worried and shivering from the cold. "We'll figure out a way, Son," I answered, "and don't you worry your little head."

Our pickup truck was parked in the driveway. "Look, Mike," I said pointing to the truck and trying to sound cheerful, "we'll sleep in the bed of the truck."

There was a plyboard in the carport that we hoisted to the top of the bed to protect us from the elements. Then, I remembered the clothes hanging on the line in the backyard. "Mike, let's get all the clothes and use them like blankets." I said. "Will they keep us warm enough, Mama?" he asked, deeply concerned. "Yes, Mike, they'll keep us nice and warm."

After saying a prayer for God's protection, we settled in for the night. "Good night, Mama. I think this is great. It's like camping out, isn't it, Mama?" "Goodnight, Son, yes, it's like camping out."

My son was making the best out of a bad situation. But, what a way to live! How could I ever forgive myself for putting my son through this. The guilt I felt consumed me. Oh, I was greatly troubled in mind and spirit as I waited for the plane to land in Denver.

The announcement to fasten seatbelts as we approached Denver interrupted my thoughts. I braced myself for the inevitable--that we might be stranded here in Denver with hardly any money on us. The thought was unsettling to me as I have never been in such a predicament before.

From a phone booth, I called my sister and whined. "Hey, the flight to Florida is cancelled, and we're stuck here with no place to stay for the night." Without missing a beat she said, "I know someone in Denver--Mrs. Tidwell. Call her."

I knew Mrs. Tidwell, and hope sprang in my heart like a beautiful white lily protruding from a watered garden. "Give me her number, and I'll call her as soon as we hang up," I said, searching frantically for a piece of paper and pen from my purse. However, after a short pause, my sister glumly added: "I'm so sorry, I'd forgottenMrs. Tidwell recently fell and broke her hip and is in a nursing home there." "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," I told her, but I was greatly disappointed, and the feeling of helplessness and despair I felt in the plane engulfed me all over again.

With a sigh, I told my sister I'd keep her posted what we decided to do. I felt stressed out being forced to make a decision I didn't want to make. Should we go back to Yuma or go to San Diego? I didn't want to do either, but I knew I had to do something. I parked my Mother's wheelchair at the loading area for those going on theSan Diego flight. I decided if all else failed, we would just go to San Diego and stay with my brother.

Then out of the blue came a young black gentleman. "May I help you?" he asked. "Yes, you may," I said, greatly relieved. I showed him our tickets and explained our predicament. He took our tickets and disappeared into the crowd.

There were wall-to-wall people and confusion about flights to Florida because of the storm. After awhile, I saw the man coming our way, and I sensed that he had good news for us for he had a smile on his face that stretched from ear to ear. He handed me our tickets on Delta Airlines going to Orlando, Florida.

A great burden rolled off my shoulders when I realized we would not be stranded, after all, in this beautiful but strange city. While Frontier Airlines cancelled all flights to Florida, Delta didn't. They did not consider Hurricane Elena a threat to Central Florida. The kind man took our heavy luggage and checked them in.

With this good news came one problem. "You don't have a lot of time to get to the gate. The plane will be leaving in a few minutes, and if you're going to make it, you'll need to run fast," the man warned us. "Wait a minute," I said, "I need to let my sister know that we're taking the plane to Orlando, not Jacksonville." The man was gracious enough to make the collect call himself. Then he turned to us and told us to hustle to the gate.

Michael and I hustled as we have never hustled before. We ran as fast as we could almost bumping into people and almost slipping at times. We were running like competitors desirous of winning Olympic gold metals. We ran through one corridor and about to enter another when I stopped dead in my tracks, out of breath. "Where's Mother?" I asked. In our haste to make it to the gate, we forgot my Mother back there in the San Diego loading area. "How could we forget Grandma, Mike?" I muttered, feeling ashamed that I had actually forgotten my poor Mother. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw something zoom by at top speed. It was the black man running with my Mother in the wheelchair! And would you believe it? We made it to the gate and to the waiting plane!

I think a lot about the black man who helped us at the airport in Denver. Had it not been for him, we would not have made it. I like to think of him as an angel whom The Lord sent to help us on that journey long ago--a trip that proved to be the most unforgettable trip ever! Even though that chapter of my life was stormy, dark and bleak, so much like Hurricane Elena, The Lord pierced the darkness with His comforting presence and whispered softly in my heart: No matter how dark and threatening a storm in your life may be, just trust Me; I'll be there to keep you safe 'til the storm passes by.

Till the Storm Passes by in the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face, While the storms howl above me, and there's no hiding place. "Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry, "Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by."

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, till the clouds roll forever from the sky. Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand; keep me safe 'til the storm passes by. Many times Satan whispered, "There is no use to try, for there's no end of sorrow; there's no hope by and by." But I know Thou art with me, and tomorrow, I'll rise where the storms never darken the skies.

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, till the clouds roll forever from the sky. Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand; keep me safe 'til the storm passes by. When the long night has ended, and the storms come no more, let me stand in Thy presence on that bright, peaceful shore. In that land where the tempest never comes, Lord, may I dwell with Thee when the storm passes by.

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, till the clouds roll forever from the sky. Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand; leep me safe 'til the storm passes by.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE: Child in the Rain
Submitted By:..Jeannie

Child in the Rain,
I grew up in a small Texas town and one late night, a few days before Christmas, I was driving a friend's car home from a job interview in a bad storm and got a flat tire...I pulled over at the nearest gas station and called my brother to come save me...I stood at the back of my car upset and crying because I knew I didn't have the money to purchase a new tire and wasn't too sure what I was going to do....

I saw a small girl (about 8 or so) standing on the sidewalk of the gas station and she walked toward me...asked me why I was crying and was very concerned that I seemed "stuck"... I stopped crying and talked to the sweet girl telling her my problem. That I would have to wait in the rain for my brother and that I would have to buy a new tire...she rubbed my arm and talked to me while waiting...it was raining so hard and to this day, I wonder why we stood there. She was a child out in the rain at midnight...and that never seemed odd to me.

I felt safe with her there, strangely comforted...she looked around after about 15 minutes of silence and then told me he would be there soon, rubbed my back. And told me things would get better....she then pulled a bunch of money out of her pocket and attempted to give me a $20 dollar bill. I told her "no" that she should save her money and commented on the fact she had so much, and I suggested she save it for herself. She laughed and told me she had everything she needed. And she wanted to wish me a Merry Christmas and help me...and said this is what God would want her to do....I remember this little girl's smile and beautiful blonde hair...she was the sweetest thing as she insisted that she was wanting to please help.... we both turned at the headlights of my brother's truck turning into the lot and before I could turn around, she was gone, walking away (I could see her leaving) around the corner of the store.

I immediately ran to my brother and told him about her...he changed my tire and told me to get into the car and head home, as I went to close the trunk there was the $20 bill she had offered me laying on the trunk lid...I went to my brother that night and told him what had happened and he smiled and cried...telling me that I had met my first angel and that God had sent her to me in the form of a child, so that I wouldn't run or be scared of her approach...I'll never forget that and still get goose bumps when I remember it...funniest thing is now my brother has a beautiful daughter with long blonde hair and an angelic smile...angels are around us...and someday, I hope everyone gets the opportunity to see one.

Divine Escorts,

I was reading your website about angels and I would like to tell you something that happened to me in or around 1971. My best friend and I decided we would go to a carnival which was located in St. Louis, Missouri.

The location was in the northern part of the city and one for the worst areas in the city. We didn't realize it at the time. When we got there, all we saw were drunks and black guys. Not being prejudice, that part didn't bother us one bit.

It started raining while we were there and we took shelter under a snack trailer. While standing there, twoSt. Louis police officers walked up to us and started talking. They asked if we would like company for the evening. The entire evening, the officers stayed with us, walking us to each ride, side show, etcetera.

My friend wanted to walk through the horror house and I wouldn't go with her; the officer went in before her and ran out a bunch of teens that were hanging out in there. To make a long story short, these two officers stayed with us the entire evening, even walking us to our car and making sure our car started and everything was okay.

My parents had been out of town for the weekend, and when my father found out where we went, he about had a heart attack because of the location. He said that that was the most dangerous part of the city. I never thought about this until a few years ago, and I truly believe these were angels that God sent to protect us. My friend and I can neither remember what these officers looked like.

I thought you might like to hear my little story.

Thank you.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..Saved From Fire
Submitted By:..Anonymous

Saved From Fire,

I'm hanging out with Katie, my 6-year-old, and Matt, my 3-year-old, this weekend while my wife is away with the women. Shortly after arriving home from a day out, I noticed that my son was by our gas fireplace. He had messed with the key that turns on the gas...just for a second. I was going to light the fireplace anyway, so I went over to light it.

When I lit it, however, I quickly learned that the gas must have been on longer than I expected. A huge amount of fire came out of the fireplace all in front of me. It was over in a minute. The kids were far enough away...they were okay. I had burned the hair off of my hand...and other areas were burned, too...my hair, my eyebrows and my eyelashes. I hugged the kids, explained what happened and talked about not playing with the fireplace.

Ten minutes or so later, we were eating dinner and out of nowhere, Katie said "I had never seen an angel before." Now Katie is not a kid who makes up stories, so I was very interested in what she had to say. Here is our dialogue:

Katie: I had never seen an angel before.
Me: What? Did you see an angel?
       Katie: Forget it.
Me: Do you think an angel helped us out tonight?
Katie: Yeah, I saw a face and white...well...maybe it was just a dream.

     Now, I was particularly interested.

Me: Well, tell me about your dream. There was an angel?
Katie: There were two angels...one with me and Matt by the couch and one with you.
Me: What was the one with me doing?
Katie: She put her arms around the fire.

I've often been a skeptic of these kinds of stories, but I truly believe that I could have been more severely burned tonight if it weren't for our visitors. I explained to Katie that we have a God who loves us so much that He'll send angels to take care of us and make sure we're safe. That was the case tonight.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..Angel With A Sign
Submitted By:..Cherie

Angel With A Sign,

I was driving through traffic with my two daughters when I came to a busy left-hand turn intersection and had to stop for a red light. Across the intersection, kitty corner to me was a young man standing with a sign that said "HUNGRY will work for food." We've all seen this before and feel compassion for these people.

Unlike most, this young man, approximately 20 looked hungry. He was wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt. You could see his collar and shoulder bones through his T-shirt. He looked clean, but famished. I thought either he was a drug addict or had AIDS. He was so skinny and pale, no one could be that starved.

My youngest daughter said "Mother, let's do something for him. As she said that, he looked across the intersection straight into my eyes. I felt a very strong urge to help him.
At that moment, the light turned green and I couldn't get across the three lanes to him. To go back would have meant going seven or eight blocks around in a circle to get back to him. I was in a hurry and didn't do it.

We continued through town and across the river approximately six miles, maybe stopping at two traffic lights.

When we got to the next main intersection, there he was standing holding his sign. He looked across the intersection at me again. Well, you don't have to tell me twice.

I drove to McDonalds which was a half a block away and ordered him a meal and drove to where he was standing.

My husband always said "Don't give them money. They'll just buy alcohol or drugs with it." I thought I'm not hurting him buying him food, that's what he's asking for.

I called him over to the car and expected to see a blurry-eyed drug-ravaged person.

When he walked up to the car, we handed him the food. He looked at us with the clearest, beautiful loving, peaceful blue eyes I have ever seen. He took the bag. All he said was "God Bless You."

This person was not drug-ravaged or ill.

He turned and walked back to his sign. Put down the bag of food without looking in it and picked up his sign.

When he said God Bless You, I started to cry. It was such an overwhelming feeling of love that I received from him. My oldest daughter who was 14 kept saying mother did you see his eyes?

I knew instantly that he was an angel and that he was standing at these busy intersections to see if there was any  compassion left in this town or maybe just a test for me.

I sat there a couple of minutes, composing myself before I drove away; many cars passed and no one stopped.

The thing is he could not have beat me through town. I was on a one-way street the quickest route through town.

Even if he had immediately jumped in a car, he could not have beat me through town and got out in that intersection before I got there. It's been a couple years and I have no doubt that he was an angel.

My daughter still talks about his beautiful blue eyes.

My Angel,

One day when I was eight years old, I was outside playing with my dog. We had just gotten him a few months earlier, and he was an already trained guard dog. But, he had never posed any threat to our family. I remember throwing a ball to him, him bringing it back, me patting him on the head and saying good job. Then, he jumped on me. He started snarling and growling. Then he clawed my arms. By this time, my mother had seen me, and was running outside to stop him. But before she got there, he bit into my face, and with one single bite, almost completely took off my nose.

They rushed me to the hospital, and after giving me anesthetics, a plastic surgeon began to work on my face. In his work, he found that one of my nerves had been damaged severely. He told my mother that when the operation was over, half of my face would be paralyzed, unable to move.

Mother couldn't believe it, so he looked again. It was still severely torn. He apologized and said that he would do all he could. My mother asked him to check one more time. He agreed and looked.

The nerve had come together, being only slightly bruised!

     He said "It's a miracle."

To this day, I am thankful to my guardian angel and my mom. My face is healed, hardly any showing marks.

Were it not for the protection provided by my angel, my life would be totally different.

Thank you God, my angel, and Mom...

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..Walk Home

Walk Home,

This is going to sound crazy, and many of you are going to say I saw what I saw because I was drinking, of which I freely admit, but this does not explain my journey.

I'd been out on a works outing, it was later than normal when I would have liked to have finished, but you know what it's like. You get sucked in and feel obliged to stay and try to be that "party and people person" that we think is the way to success.

Anyway, I stayed later than I should have, but eventually headed out and homeward; I knew it was late and I'd missed the train home and the taxi ranks were so full I could walk the 45 minutes back to mine before even making it to the head of the queue. So I headed off, probably weaving a bit from side-to-side, but you know, gradually getting where I was going, then something happened.

My home is visible from quite a way off and it's a long, straight road which leads to it; it looks quite a long way off when you're sober, so you can imagine how far off it seems when you've had a few. A car pulled up to me, I didn't stop; you don't know who it's going to be, but I turned my head to see who was there.

I heard the words "Let me help you!" I would normally have felt a bit insulted at this, but strangely, I felt the opposite. I looked through the car window to see a small Asian-looking man beckoning me into his car. Now let me tell you that drunk or sober, I would never normally get into a vehicle with anyone I didn't know, but there was something strange here and I didn't really have any fear as I entered the car--I can't explain it.

The journey was short about five minutes at most and my host told me, "You are a good man, misguided at times but good, also you are kind and kindness covers a multitude of sins; this is the most wonderful of all: for the smallest act of kindness is the greatest thing in the world!" I felt the tears fill up in my eyes and my heart was so full it might have burst. I motioned to stop and he did, right outside my home. I got out and whispered "God bless you," the car drove away.

Now that was two years ago, was it an angel, I don't know. I just know that a force for good found me, gave me wise words, did a charitable act in taking me where I wanted to go and left me with a whole sense that I'd seen something wholeheartedly good, and other than from everyday life. I just feel now that a force is watching over me and I feel blessed.

More Than Ever,

Here is one of my awesome "True" stories about Angels...

What I am about to tell you, I have not told anyone. This happened three years ago when I entered a Safeway store in Coos Bay, Oregon.

I was at a checkout stand and I glanced over my shoulder to see a beautiful angel. The angel was dressed in a white robe with gold surrounding the bottom, sleeves and collar. After this experience, I began to see more and more angels.

Because I am enrolled in college taking "Criminal Justice" with an Associates Arts Degree, I do not wish to state my name or disclose the fact that I believe in the supernatural that started with my life and death experience on July 6, 1995 at 7:35 p.m.

Be cautious of who is visiting you by your own bedside at night or in the daytime. I had Satan appear to me as an angel of light three days ago, while I was sitting at my computer working on my schoolwork. When the experience began, I felt his darkness evil presence behind me, even though he showed himself to me in white and gold colors, I knew he was demonic. He's a liar and nothing that comes forth from his mouth is ever the truth.

Jesus Christ is the truth, the way, and the life (John 14:6).

Goodbye for now!
Love always,
A Christian servant of the Most High God Jesus the Christ!

The Tall Spirit,

Laying by Donna, I was sound asleep when suddenly my eyes popped open. Above me, was a tall spirit in the form of a person glowing and very white and very tall. All I can remember of the
face was the eyes looking straight down at me. She or he reached down and touched my chest area and when it did, the whole hand covered my body. I felt warm and I wasn't afraid at all. I stayed awake for awhile wondering if what I saw was what I thought it was.

Alive And Well,

I have had lots of experiences with angels.  I have heard them, seen them in my mind's eye, and in Church (I am Catholic) I have seen them...filling up the pews where spaces were left empty. I have been given a hug...by my guardian angel, and I have had two dreams where I am standing around a table with  angels surrounding me going over a map. I have doubted these things, but other things have happened also. Just wanted to let you know that angels are real, alive and well!

God bless

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..The Stranger
Submitted By:..Anonymous

The Stranger,

When I was between the ages of 6-9, we lived in an apartment one block north of Hollywood Boulevard. This was in the early 1970s and during that time, Hollywood was quite a wild town. My brother and I lived with our recently divorced father and things were a little rough because our mom decided she didn't want to be a mother anymore and left us to "live her own life." I only mention this because maybe it is why I was so vulnerable at that time in my life. Well, as any little kid does, I LOVED candy. Any time I could scrounge some change, I was off to the candy store around the corner on Hollywood Boulevard.

Well, one day as I was coming to the corner of my street and the boulevard, a man in a car signaled me to come over. I came close, but not too close. He had had a tracheotomy and did not speak. He had a dollar in his hand and was waving it at me like he wanted to give it to me. Ignoring everything my parents had told me, I took the dollar from him and continued on to the store and bought candy. I guess my greed got the better of me.

Anyway, this went on for awhile. Every once in awhile, he would be there and give me money. The classic pedophile building up trust in a child, right? I didn't see it, but I was only seven at the time. Being raised by a newly single father, we had a lot of freedom at that time in our lives. Anyway, one day the man was there, but with a woman in his car. He held out even more money and pointed into the car, like he would give me that money if I came with him. I guess the woman was there to make me feel better. I know it sounds stupid, but I actually considered it. The woman said that he wanted to take me to the store to buy a lot of candy and didn't want me walking.

I can honestly say that I felt like a deer in the headlights. I was frozen to the spot and just stood there considering it, when out of nowhere, this man stepped on the curb from Hollywood Boulevard coming toward me. I never saw him coming and I had been looking around while deciding what to do. He was a very tall African-American man and all he said was "Hey old man, leave that little girl alone." The man drove away and I never saw him again. The man then leaned down toward me and said "Go straight home, little girl. Don't talk to that man again, he's bad." I turned and ran. I never saw him again either. I don't know where he came from or where he went, he just kind of appeared. I know in my heart he was an angel protecting me.

As a side note, my best friend lived in the apartments down the street. Her parents managed the building and her father was a policeman. About a month after this happened, my friend told me that a couple in her building had been taken away because they were doing bad things to children. She described him to me and it was the same man. So, thank you to my angel out there.

Finally,

Once I was sitting in the kitchen at my house. I was sitting on a tall chair. My back was aching so bad. It hurt, and I was cold. Then I prayed, and asked God if he would make my ache go away. A few minutes later, I felt the warmest hand on my back, and it didn't hurt anymore. I think it was either God or an angel, but whichever one, I will never forget the feel on my back.

An Angel Saved My Life,

I believe that angels are all around us, and they look out for our safety and well-being on behalf of God. I personally have had several angel encounters.

One that really stands out is when my boyfriend and I went to Queensland and decided to go boogey-boarding at one of the surf beaches. It was not the first time I had been boarding, so I was pretty confident. The beach was packed, and we were having a lot of fun. That was until a big wave came crashing down on me from behind, and threw me off my board.

Suddenly, I was being dragged along under my board by the safety cord which was strapped to my wrist. I was frantically trying to get to the surface whilst being swept sideways along the beach at an incredible speed. I couldn't believe what was happening! More waves pounded down on me and as I inhaled my first lungful of water, I realized that I may very well drown.

That's when I started to be pulled in to shore at an amazing speed by what seemed to be an invisible force. The next thing I knew, I could feel the sand grazing my knees and I stumbled onto the shore and coughed out the water I had swallowed. I was at least 100m down the beach from where I had started out, and it seemed that no one had even noticed the near-fatal incident.

Lady In The Sky,

About three years ago, I was sitting in my hammock admiring the beauty of my surroundings. I was listening to the birds, looking at the squirrels jump from tree to tree. I said to myself "What a beautiful world." When I turned my head, and there in the sky was a lady looking at me. She was black, her hair was combed to the side, very modern looking lady. All of a sudden as I was looking at her, everything around me disappeared. The earth was gone, only she remained. She said not in words I could hear audibly but in words I heard in my mind. "It's your fault," she said. The message was that we all need to take care of our world, if we do not, there won't be anything beautiful to see, there won't be anything at all.

Thank you, I have tried to tell everyone about this message. We all need to know that the heavens are watching us.

ANGEL ENCOUNTERS - TITLE:..My Special Guardian Angel

My Special Guardian Angel,

My story is a touching one to me because it was during a time that has changed a lot of peoples lives. My story happened during the 9/11 attack. The day was September 11th 2001, and I was starting my new job with the New York City Transit. I was very happy because two of my best friends were working there at the time, and now I was able to join them and start a new life.

As I walked across the street from the train station that was directly across the street from my job, I met one of my friends downstairs. We chatted for about five minutes since I was early for work. After chatting with my friend, I went upstairs to see my other friend who worked in another department to see if she wanted to go with me to have breakfast.

Around 8:45 am, she was finally ready and punched out. We continued to laugh and talk as we went back downstairs. As you can guess I am a people person, and I will talk to anyone whether I know them or not, and I remember that I saw this guy holding this sign up which read Jesus loves you, so as I read the sign; I responded by saying And so do I.

Finally reaching the store, I got my breakfast and came back out to where the man was standing, and when he saw me, he said "Did you hear what happened" and I replied "No." He said a plane just hit the tower. About this time, I could see people running towards our direction. Now the World Trade (Center) was only a couple of blocks from where I worked and I could easily look up the street and see the towers from my job. So as we were walking towards my job and went in through the revolving doors, the second plane hit the second tower. Hearing the sound of the crash, my friend quickly turned asked me "What was that?" I said "I don't know, don't you see me standing with you?" By this time we were unable to go back to our jobs because of security reasons, so we had to stay outside. As I looked up I saw the flames.

Shortly after the second plane hit the second tower, my friend got separated just after the towers fell and I panicked. The clouds of smoke and debris covered me and I thought I was losing my mind. I could hear planes overhead, and I wanted to jump in the water because I heard it was terrorist involved and I really was not all together. Then a man in a jeep drove up turning to him, I asked if he could help me by driving me to the Brooklyn Bridge. He said he would take me as close as he could. Just then, another man hopped in the jeep with me. I asked the driver what was his name; he told me Michael and that he was a fireman. I asked him where was he going and he said that he was there to help. I asked him,  "Please tell me where you're going, so I know that you would be allright." He said "You don't have to look for me I will be just fine. But he did say that his assigned post would be at Ladder 13. From seeing how calm and positive he was helped me regain my strength and I suddenly found myself going from panic and confusion to calm, and able to focus until I got home.

A couple of days later, I went to the location where he told me that he would be to let him know that I made it and to see if he did as well. The firemen said there was no one by that name there. That they never heard of him. I never saw him again. I believe till this day that that was my guardian angel...wherever you are, I want to say thank you. Thank you for watching over me through my panic and bad time...I love you, and I will always be grateful.

Taking Over the Steering Wheel,

Okay, I don't know if this is very interesting or not, but it has puzzled me, and made me happy at the same time.

The other day, I was going into town. The weather was really bad as it was snowing and raining at the same time. The further I went, the more I wondered if I should forget my errand, turn around and go back home, but finally giving in, I decided to continue on.

Finally finishing my shopping, I started back home, but on my way back I suddenly got a
strange feeling of fear and total distress. Disregarding the uneasy feelings, I started to pray, "God please help me." Putting my faith in God, I continued down the dangerous country road, but by this time, the weather had become so bad that I could hardly see anything. Unsure of what the next moment might bring, I suddenly felt my tightly gripped fingers around the steering wheel start to loosen, until I had no grip it at all. My hands and fingers just seem to lay lightly on the steering wheel as if someone else was steering the car for me. This continued until the roads got better and the freezing rain stopped. Once I felt safe, I again took hold of the steering wheel and drove the rest of the way home.

Sometimes, I still question if it was real or just my imagination.

Angel In My Dreams,

When I was about 3 or 4 years of age, my aunt died in my old house, where I lived at that age. We were pretty close, but I don't really remember much about her now. One thing I remember about her death, though, is that while I was looking at her dead body on the bed, I saw almost a white fog rise from her body into the ceiling. Then, I had a dream one night, still the same age. I told my mother my dream, but I don't remember it, and from what she told me, the dream went like this. In my dream, my aunt awoke me from my bed and brought me outside. On the side of our house is a little garden and that is where she brought me next. In the garden, my aunt showed me a single flower. This flower was so beautiful. She then told me that she was allright in heaven and that I was not to worry about her. My aunt also told me that the beautiful flower was how it was in heaven and even better. She said it was wonderful up there. I then awoke from my dream. When I told my mom about it, I brought her out to the garden to where I was in my dream and in the garden was that beautiful flower that was shown to me by my aunt in my dream.

Deliver A Message,

It was in 1984 when this happened to me. I still talk about it to this day. My best friend had committed suicide in 1980 or 1981. I was away at school when I was told to come home because Steve had shot himself. I knew him and his wife very well. I was even at their wedding when they got married. But as this story goes: apparently, she had been cheating on him and she wanted a divorce so he took a bunch of pills with alcohol and then shot himself. (I had to tell you about this man before I could tell you what I experienced.)

I was pregnant with my youngest daughter at the time in 1984 and I was taking a nap. At first, I thought it was a dream. I was sitting up in my bed talking to Steve, he was sitting beside me on my bed and he asked me to deliver a message for him. So I was sitting there listening to him and he had asked me to tell his wife because she hadn't remarried yet. But to let her know that he had forgiven her for what she had did and that he wants her to go ahead and get remarried, so that his son could be raised with a father. I told Steve I would deliver the message. My boyfriend at the time asked me who I was talking to. And I asked him what he meant and he told me what I was doing. So I told him about what had happened. Of course, he told me I was dreaming. I don't think it was a dream because I delivered the message and his wife got remarried.
