GOD'S WORD ON HOPE

Bible Reference  Hebrews 6:10-19  God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them. 11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. 12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

13 When God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, God swore by himself, 14 saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants." 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

16 Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, He confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

Bible Reference  Romans 5:1-11  Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through Our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by The Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by His Blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him! 10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through Our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Bible Reference  Job 13:13-16  Keep silent and let me speak; then let come to me what may. 14 Why do I put myself in jeopardy and take my life in my hands? 15 Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him; I will surely defend my ways to His face. 16 Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless man would dare come before Him!

Bible Reference  Psalms 33:13-22  From Heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind; 14 from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth--15 He who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. 16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. 18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. 21 In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy Name. 22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

Bible Reference  Psalms 25:1-11  To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; 2 in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. 3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse. 4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; 5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. 6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD. 8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways. 9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of His covenant. 11 For the sake of Your Name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

Bible Reference  Ephesians 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

No Greater Love Than This

Bible Reference  2 Corinthians 5:21  God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Bible Reference  Philippians 2:6-8  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross!

Bible Reference  John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Bible Reference  Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

Bible Reference  Colossians 1:26-27 The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

How To Receive Him

Bible Reference  Luke 13:3  I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

Bible Reference  Ephesians 2:8-9   For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Bible Reference  Revelation 3:20  "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me."

Now What?

Bible Reference  2 Corinthians 5:15  And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.

ETERNAL LIFE

Bible Reference  Psalm 16:10-11  Because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.

Bible Reference  Job 19:25  I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth.

Bible Reference  John 3:6-36  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, `You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

9 "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked.

10 "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? 11 I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven, except the one who came from Heaven-the Son of Man.  14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so The Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life."

16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. 18 Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the Name of God's one and only Son.  19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where He spent some time with them, and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were constantly coming to be baptized. 24 (This was before John was put in prison.) 25 An argument developed between some of John's disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. 26 They came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan-the one you testified about-well, He is baptizing, and everyone is going to Him."

27 To this John replied, "A man can receive only what is given him from Heaven. 28 You yourselves can testify that I said, `I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of Him.' 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. 30 He must become greater; I must become less.

31 The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from Heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what He has seen and heard, but no one accepts His testimony. 33 The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves The Son and has placed everything in His hands. 36 Whoever believes in The Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects The Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

Bible Reference  John 6:39-40  "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For My Father's will is that everyone who looks to The Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

Bible Reference  John 8:51  "I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps My word, he will never see death."

Bible Reference  1 Corinthians 15:19-22  If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

Bible Reference  Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Bible Reference  Romans 8:11  And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.

Bible Reference  1 Corinthians 15:51-54  Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed- 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

Bible Reference  2 Peter 1:10-11  Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal Kingdom of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Bible Reference  Revelation 21:3-5  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then He said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD

Bible Reference  Leviticus 26:12  I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.

Bible Reference  1 John 1:3  We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with The Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.  1 John 1:5-7  This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Bible Reference  1 John 3:24  Those who obey His commands live in Him, and He in them. And this is how we know that He lives in us: We know it by the Spirit He gave us.

Bible Reference  Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three come together in My Name, there am I with them."

Bible Reference  Romans 8:10,  But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.  Romans 8:17   Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.

Bible Reference  2 John 9  Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

Bible Reference  Revelation 3:20  Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching, she misleads  My servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.

Bible Reference  Revelation 21:3-4  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

SALVATION

Bible Reference  Psalm 116:6  The LORD protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, He saved me.

Bible Reference  Matthew 7:13-14  "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Bible Reference  Matthew 16:25  "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it."

Bible Reference  John 3:16-17  "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

Bible Reference  John 3:3-7  In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God, unless he is born again."

4 "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"

5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of God, unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, `You must be born again.'"

Bible Reference  Romans 3:20-24   Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Bible Reference  1 Corinthians 1:18-19  For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise."

Bible Reference  2 Corinthians 5:17-21  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Bible Reference  Colossians 2:12-13 Having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins.

Bible Reference  Titus 3:5   He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by The Holy Spirit.

Bible Reference  Romans 8:38-39  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

JESUS TEACHINGS

Bible Reference  Matthew 22:21  "Caesar's," they replied. Then He said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

Bible Reference  John 4:24  God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth.

Bible Reference  Matthew 5:44  But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Bible Reference  Matthew 22:37-40  Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: `Love your neighbor as yourself.'  40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

JESUS THE MESSIAH

The Bible gives over 300 prophecies referring to the promise of the Messiah, with every one of them written before the birth of Jesus. The odds of one man fulfilling 100, 50, 20, or even 10 of these prophecies are in the trillions-to-one. Yet, Jesus Christ fulfilled every one of these prophecies to the letter.

For our study, I will only give you 17 of the prophecies, and if after reviewing only 17 of the over 300,  I am sure you will as millions of others before you, will rest in the assurance that truly Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our LORD and Savior.

PROPHECY        Isaiah 7:13 "The Lord Himself will give you a sign:  'The virgin will be with child, will give birth to a son, and will call him Emmanuel.  Which means "God with us?" ' "

FULFILLED         Matthew 1:20-25 An Angel appeared to Joseph, the husband of Mary and said, Matthew 1:20-25  "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus because He will save His people from their sins."

All this took place to fulfill what The Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"-which means, "God with us." When Joseph woke up, he did what The Angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.  But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Remember in an earlier chapter, when I described how God often appeared to man as The Angel of the Lord.  In this passage, it was actually God Jesus who appeared to Joseph as The Angel of the Lord foretelling of His the God Man Jesus' own birth.

PROPHECY  Micah 5:2  "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you, will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

FULFILLED  Matthew 2:1-2  After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, 'Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews?  We saw his star in the east and have come to worship Him.' "

PROPHECY  Psalm 2:7  "I will proclaim the decree of the LORD:  He said to me, 'You are My Son; today, I have become your Father.' "

FULFILLED  Matthew 3:16   "As soon as Jesus was baptized; He went up out of the water. At that moment, Heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him.  And a voice from Heaven said, 'This is My Son, whom I love; with Him, I am well pleased.' "

PROPHECY  Isaiah 40:3-5 A voice of one calling in the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.

FULFILLED  Matthew 3:1-3 In those days, John the Baptist came preaching in the Desert of Judea and saying 'Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. This is He who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah. A voice of one calling in the desert, prepare the way for The Lord, make straight paths for Him.' "

PROPHECY  Isaiah 35:5-6  Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.  Then will the lame leap like a deer.

FULFILLED  Matthew 15:29-31 One of many places in which Jesus fulfilled Isaiah's prophecies was near the Sea of Galilee. As He walked along the mountainside, great crowds came to Him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and laid them at His feet; and He healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing.  And they praised the God of Israel.

PROPHECY  Zechariah 9:9  The Messiah would enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey and three days later be crucified.

FULFILLED  Matthew 21:1-9  "As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, 'Go to the village ahead of you, and at once, you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, tell him that The Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.' "

This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.' "

The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed shouted,

"Hosanna to the Son of David!"
"Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord!"
"Hosanna in the highest!"

PROPHECY  Psalms 41:9 The Messiah would be betrayed by a friend and sold for thirty pieces of silver.  In  Psalms 41:9  "Even My close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared My bread, has lifted up his heel against me."  Zechariah 11:13  "And the LORD said to me, 'Throw it to the potter'-the handsome price at which they priced me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD to the potter.' "

FULFILLED  John 13:19-30  "I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe that I am He. I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send, accepts Me; and whoever accepts Me, accepts the one who sent Me."

"After He had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, 'I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray Me.' "

"His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them He meant. One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to Him. Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, 'Ask Him which one He means?' "

"Leaning back against Jesus, he asked Him, 'Lord, who is it?' "

"Jesus answered, 'It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.' Then dipping the piece of bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon. As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him."

"What you are about to do, do quickly, Jesus told him, but no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him. Since Judas had charge of the money, some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the Feast, or to give something to the poor. As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night."

Matthew 26:14-15 "Then Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and asked, 'What are you willing to give me if I hand him Jesus over to you?' So, they counted out for him thirty silver coins."

"After Judas had betrayed Jesus, he took the reward he received for his wickedness and bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out. Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language (Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood)."
Acts 1:18-19

PROPHECY  Isaiah 50:6-8 The Messiah would be beaten at his trial.  Isaiah 50:6-8  "I offered My back to those who beat Me, My cheeks to those who pulled out My beard;  I did not hide My face from mocking and spitting.  Because the Sovereign LORD helps Me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set My face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. He who vindicates Me is near."

FULFILLED  Matthew 26:67-68 "Then they spit in His face and struck Him with their fists. Others slapped Him and said, 'Prophecy to us, Christ. Who hit you?' "

PROPHECY  Zechariah  12:10  "And on that day, 'I will pour out on the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on Me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for any only child.' "

FULFILLED  Luke 23:26-27 "As they led Him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus. Large numbers of people followed Him, including women who mourned and wailed for him."

PROPHECY  Isaiah 53:12 And He was numbered with the transgressors.

FULFILLED  Mark 15:27-29 They crucified two robbers with Him, one on His right and one on His left.

PROPHECY  The Messiah would be crucified.  Daniel 9:26. After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off  killed and will have nothing.  Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth;  He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before the shearers in silence, so He did not open His mouth. By oppression and judgment, He was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of My people He was stricken. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death, though He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.

Psalms 22:1 "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?  Why are You so far from saving Me?" Psalms  22:15  "My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue sticks to the roof of My mouth; You lay Me in the dust of death."  Psalms 22:17-18  "I can count My bones; people stare and gloat over Me. They divide My garments among them and cast lots for My clothing."  NIV

FULFILLED  Matthew 27:33-35 "They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, He refused to drink it.  When they had crucified Him, they divided up His clothes by casting lots."

PROPHECY  Messiah would be raised from the dead.  Psalms 16:9-11 "Therefore My heart is glad and My tongue rejoices;  My body also will rest secure because You will not abandon Me to the grave, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. You have made known to Me the path of life;  You will fill Me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand."

FULFILLED  "Because You will not abandon Me to the grave, nor will You let your Holy One see decay.  You have made known to Me the path of life;  You will fill Me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand."

After Jesus' Resurrection, He appeared to over 500 people that we are told of.  1 Corinthians 15:3-8  For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; that He was buried; that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Peter and then to the Twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of who are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all, He appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

"Shortly after Jesus' Ascension, He took the disciples with Him to the Mount of Olives, where they watched Him ascend up into Heaven. As the disciples watched Jesus ascend up into Heaven, two men angels dressed in white suddenly appeared beside them and said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into Heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into Heaven.' "
Acts 1:11

When the two Angels said, you will see Him come back, they were referring to His Second Coming, when He will return to earth and establish His throne and rule as King of Kings for a thousand years.
