PRAYER / INTERCESSION

What Does The Bible Say

What is prayer?

Bible Reference  Psalms 42:7   Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.

Bible Reference  Matthew 6:9-13  This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."

Forgiveness is Key

How do I pray for miracles?

Bible Reference  John 5:17  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Moving Mountains

Bible Reference  Mark 11:23  "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, `Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him."

Bible Reference  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18  Be joyful always; 17 pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

What Does The Bible Say

Bible Reference  1 Samuel 2:3  Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.

Bible Reference  Psalms 31:23  Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful, but the proud He pays back in full.

Bible Reference  Proverbs 3:7  Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.

Bible Reference  Proverbs 16:5  The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished. Proverbs 16:18-19 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.

Bible Reference  Proverbs 21:4  Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin!

Bible Reference  Isaiah 2:11 The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled and the pride of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.

Bible Reference  Isaiah 13:11  "I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless."

Bible Reference  Matthew 5:3-5  "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."

Bible Reference  Matthew 11:25  At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children."

Bible Reference  Mark 9:35  Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."

Bible Reference  1 John 2:16  For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world.

Bible Reference  Luke 8:9-14   His disciples asked Him what this parable meant. 10 He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand."
11 "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the Word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rock are the ones who receive the Word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for awhile, but in the time of testing, they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature."

Bible Reference  Jeremiah 17:9  The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Bible Reference  Psalms 14:3  All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.

Bible Reference  Romans 1:18-25  The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen.

Bible Reference  John 1:29  The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Bible Reference  2 Corinthians 5:19-21  That God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Bible Reference  Romans 3:22-25  This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in His Blood. He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.

Bible Reference  Romans 4:25  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Bible Reference  Romans 6:20-23   When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus Our Lord.

PRIDE - REPENTANCE

What Does The Bible Say

Bible Reference  2 Chronicles 7:14 "If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Bible Reference  1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Bible Reference  Psalms 51:7-13  Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will turn back to You.  Psalms 51:16-17  You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Bible Reference  Mark 1:15  "The time has come," He said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

Bible Reference  Luke 5:31-32  Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Bible Reference  2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Bible Reference  Luke 15:11-23  Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, `Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them.

13 "Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything."

17 "When he came to his senses, he said, `How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' 20 So he got up and went to his father."

"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." 21 "The son said to him, `Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' "

22 "But the father said to his servants, `Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate.' "

RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

What Does The Bible Say

One of the biggest mistakes people make is confusing the Rapture of the Church with the Second Coming of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They are Two separate events. The Rapture will occur first followed by the Second Coming of Jesus at least Seven years later.

Bible Reference  Matthew 24:36-42 "No one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the Angels in Heaven or the Son Himself. Only The Father knows."

"When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn't realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. So be prepared, because you don't know what day your Lord is coming."

Bible Reference  Mark 13:34-36 "The coming of the Son of Man can be compared with that of a man who left home to go on a trip. He gave each of his employees instructions about the work they were to do, and he told the gatekeeper to watch for his return. So keep a sharp lookout! For you do not know when the homeowner will return -- at evening, midnight, early dawn, or late daybreak. Don't let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning."

Bible Reference  Luke 21:34-36 "Watch out! Don't let me find you living in careless ease and drunkenness, and filled with the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware, as in a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. Keep a constant watch. And pray that, if possible, you may escape these horrors and stand before the Son of Man."

Bible Reference  1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 I can tell you this directly from The Lord: We who are still living when The Lord returns will not rise to meet Him ahead of those who are in their graves. For The Lord Himself will come down from Heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the Archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meetThe Lord in the air and remain with Him forever. So, comfort and encourage each other with these words.

Bible Reference  Revelation 22:12, 20  You know quite well that the Day of The Lord will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, "All is well; everything is peaceful and secure," then disaster will fall upon them as suddenly as a woman's birth pains begin when her child is about to be born. And there will be no escape.

"See, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to repay all according to their deeds."

He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon!"

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

REVENGE

What Does The Bible Say

Bible Reference  Leviticus 19:18  "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD."

Bible Reference  Proverbs 20:22  Do not say, "I'll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for the LORD, and He will deliver you.

Bible Reference  Proverbs 26:27  If a man digs a pit, he will fall into it; if a man rolls a stone, it will roll back on him.

Bible Reference  Romans 12:17-19  A truthful witness gives honest testimony, but a false witness tells lies. 18 Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. 19 Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.

Bible Reference  Matthew 5:38-45  You have heard that it was said, `Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.'  39 But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41 If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

43 You have heard that it was said, `Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Bible Reference  2 Thessalonians 1:5-8  All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. 6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when The Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with His powerful angels. 8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of Our Lord Jesus.

SALVATION:

What Does The Bible Say

Bible Reference  Psalm 34:18  The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Bible Reference  Psalm 116:6  The LORD protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me.

Bible Reference  Matthew 7:13-14  "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Bible Reference  Matthew 16:25  "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it."

Bible Reference  John 3:16-17  For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Bible Reference  John 3:3-7  In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." 4 "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" 5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at My saying, `You must be born again.' "

Bible Reference  Romans 3:20-24  Therefore, no one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. 21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Bible Reference  1 Corinthians 1:18-19  For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."

Bible Reference  2 Corinthians 5:17-21  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 That God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them.

Bible Reference  Colossians 2:12-13  Having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins.

Bible Reference  Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Bible Reference  Romans 8:38  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.

SELF-CONTROL

What Does The Bible Say

Bible Reference  Proverbs 25:28 Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control.

Bible Reference  Proverbs 5:22-23  The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. 23 He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.

Bible Reference  Matthew 16:24-27  Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. 25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it. 26 What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father's glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what he has done."

Bible Reference  Luke 18:29-30  "I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "No one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God  30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."

Bible Reference  Romans 6:6  For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

Bible Reference  2 Timothy 1:7  For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (fear), but a spirit of power (The Holy Spirit), of love and of self-discipline.

Bible Reference  Galatians 5:22-25  But the fruit of the (Holy) Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Bible Reference  Matthew 5:39  If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

SEX

What Does The Bible Say

Bible Reference  Colossians 3:5-1- Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Bible Reference  1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 15-18 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:15-19 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ Himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."  17 But he who unites himself with The Lord is one with Him in Spirit. 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

Bible Reference  Hebrews 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

Bible Reference  Galatians 5:19-21 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Bible Reference  Ephesians 5:3-8, 11-14  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person-such a man is an idolater-has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them. 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in The Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases The Lord.

11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14 for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

Bible Reference  Galatians 6:8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

SEXUAL SINS

What Does The Bible Say

Bible Reference  Exodus 20:14  "You shall not commit adultery."

Bible Reference  Proverbs 5:3-4  For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; 4 but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword.

Bible Reference  Proverbs 6:26-32  For the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life. 27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? 28 Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? 29 So is he who sleeps with another man's wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished. 30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger when he is starving. 31 Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house. 32 But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself.

Bible Reference  Proverbs 5:20-23  Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife? 21 For a man's ways are in full view of the LORD, and He examines all his paths. 22 The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. 23 He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.

Bible Reference  Hebrews 13:4  Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

Bible Reference  1 Corinthians 6:18  Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

Bible Reference  1 Corinthians 6:9-10  Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Bible Reference  Matthew 5:27-28  You have heard that it was said, `Do not commit adultery.'  28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Bible Reference  Matthew 15:19-20 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what make a man `unclean;' but eating with unwashed hands does not make him`unclean.' "
