SECTION TEN
WHY DID GOD DESTROY THE FIRST EARTH AGE
EARTH AGE ONE After God created Earth Age One, and before Lucifer's rebellion, I believe Lucifer had dominion over the earth, the first and second heavens and limited authority in the third heaven, but subordinate to God's will. So after his rebellion, God had to purify the earth before He could make man out of the clay of the earth and establish man on the earth. To accomplish this, He destroyed the earth with an earthquake and a worldwide flood. After destroying the earth, God blotted out the sun by surrounding the earth in a blanket of darkness.
Job 9:7 and 38:30 both describe the destruction of the First Earth Age in great detail. Job 9:5-7 "He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in His anger. He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. He speaks to the sun and it does not shine." Job 38:30 "And the waters become hard as stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen." NIV
This event could have only taken place before God made Adam because at no time since God made Adam has the sun ceased to shine or the earth been a frozen ball of ice. Even though this event took place when God destroyed the First Earth Age, the Bible oftentimes speaks of the same event occurring more than once, even though it is not always made clear in the scripture and must be given to us by the Holy Spirit which is the case in Job 38:30. In this scripture, Job describes how the earth is moved out of her place and how God makes the pillars tremble. When God moved the earth out of its place, the earth became tilted on its axis and at the end of our current earth age, He will again cause the earth to move back to its original position, the way He first created it--perfect.
Conclusion: The First Earth Age, the earth that God created perfect and to be inhabited, was destroyed without being inhabited and became The Second Earth Age, also called The Chaotic Earth, Empty, Void, Formless, Dark and covered with ice because of the rebellion of Satan and the fallen angels.
THE GAP THEORY - TRUE OR FALSE?
Many scientists believe the earth has gone through at least four changes or four earth ages that were inhabited by one or more different civilizations, this is called the "Pre-Adamic Age."
Even many noted evangelists, ministers, preachers and Bible teachers believe and teach The First Earth Age, the earth age they call the Pre-Adamic Earth as having been inhabited. They base their theory on several Bible scriptures, including Isaiah 45:18. It is a lot like "MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO." These misled evangelists, ministers, preachers and Bible teachers hear or read a false teaching that sounds believable in the natural and without testing the Spirit, through the Holy Spirit in their hearts, they begin to teach this false doctrine, until a lie becomes the truth in the eyes of many believers and they are deceived along with those who teach this false doctrine.
Isaiah 45:18 "For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: 'I am the LORD, and there is no other.' " NKJV
Based on this and several other scriptures, the Gap Theory would lead you to believe that the First Earth Age was created perfect and that God created inhabitants to live on the earth before He made Adam and Eve in the Third Earth Age. They also teach that these inhabitants had all of the traits, characteristics, and attributes that men have today, with the exception of any means of salvation after death.
They believe that God gave Satan and a third of the angels in heaven the responsibility of teaching these Pre-Adamic inhabitants His Will and ways and that it was their responsibility to take the praise and worship of the Pre-Adamic inhabitants back up to God in the third heaven.
Stay with me, it gets worse.
To help substantiate their theory, they use several other Bible scriptures found in Genesis, Ezekiel, Job, Jeremiah, and Isaiah to name a few.
To begin, the Gap Theory teaches that Lucifer was cast out of heaven in Ezekiel 28:16-18 in the First Earth Age, during his reign over the Pre-Adamic race, described in Ezekiel 28:16-18.
"Through your widespread trade, you were filled with violence and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the Mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. By your many sins and dishonest trade, you have desecrated your sanctuaries."
They interpret Ezekiel 28:16-18 as occurring after God created the First Earth Age in Genesis 1:1 but before Genesis 1:2 when the earth was empty, void, formless, dark and covered with ice.
The Gap theory teaches that since Lucifer rebelled before Genesis 1:2, Ezekiel 28:16-18 proves that there were inhabitants on the earth prior to Adam because God says, "You have desecrated your sanctuaries, and I made you a spectacle before kings."
They believe that in order for Lucifer to desecrate the sanctuaries, there had to be beings who attended these sanctuaries, and for him to be made a spectacle before kings, there had to be kings and kingdoms.
THE TRUTH IS although Lucifer did rebel some time during Genesis 1:1, Ezekiel 28:16-19 takes place in three, different time periods.
After Lucifer learned of God's plan to make man and place man over him and all of the angels and to judge their affairs, Lucifer desecrated the sanctuaries in heaven by convincing one-third of the angels to rebel with him for what God was about to do. Sanctuaries in this passage refer to the authority Satan had over the angels in heaven toward the worship of God. This passage applies to the angels in the third heaven and the Kingdom of GOD, which has nothing to do with the earth or some fictitious Pre-Adamic inhabitants.
Verse 18 continued: "Therefore, I will make you an object of scorn to the nations and a laughing stock to all the countries."
In this verse, Jesus is telling us what He will do to Satan at the end of the thousand-year Millennium and our current earth age and has nothing to do with the earth before He made Adam.
IMPORTANT: The Bible is the inspired Word of God and filled with parables and mysteries. One sentence can have several meanings or can span hundreds or even thousands of years. LUCIFER AND THE SO-CALLED PRE-ADAMIC REBELLION
The Gap Theory also teaches that at some point during his reign, Lucifer became jealous of God and instead of having his angels carry back the praises and worship of the Pre-Adamic inhabitants up to God, he somehow convinced the angels under his control and the Pre-Adamic inhabitants to worship him instead. They teach that Lucifer was the only godly authority on the earth and had no difficulty in convincing the Pre-Adamic inhabitants and his fallen angels to worship him.
In addition, the Gap Theory also teaches that after Satan and his angels were defeated and thrown out of heaven and cast down to the earth and were limited to the first and second heavens, God in His anger killed all of the Pre-Adamic inhabitants with an earthquake and a flood. After which, He put the spirits of the Pre-Adamic inhabitants in the Pit and later released them as the demons under Satan's control. They teach that the spirits of these Pre-Adamic inhabitants are the demons that possess and oppress people today in our current earth age.
JOB - JEREMIAH AND II PETER
To further help substantiate their belief, the Gap Theory also teaches that Job actually describes the destruction of the First Earth Age and the Pre-Adamic inhabitants in Job 9:5-7: "He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in His anger. He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. He speaks to the sun and it does not shine; He seals off the light of the stars." NIV
In addition to Job 9:5-7, they also believe the prophet Jeremiah verifies and substantiates Job, in Jeremiah 4:23-28 "I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone. I looked at the mountains, and they were quaking; all the hills were swaying. I looked, and there were no people; every bird in the sky had flown away. I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert; all its towns lay in ruins before the LORD, before His fierce anger. This is what the LORD says: 'The whole land will be ruined, though I will not destroy it completely. Therefore, the earth will mourn and the heavens above grow dark, because I have spoken and will not relent, I have decided and will not turn back.' " NIV
In regard to these scriptures describing the Pre-Adamic inhabitants, I strongly disagree. If you'll remember earlier, we briefly discussed how in one sentence or one verse God could span hundreds or even thousands of years. Well, in these verses, God is both describing the destruction of the First Earth Age and the Flood of Noah.
NOTE: Job 9:5-7 "He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in His anger. He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. He speaks to the sun and it does not shine; He seals off the light of the stars." NIV
Verses 6 and 7 are in fact describing the destruction of the First Earth Age, because as we have said before, at no time since the creation of Adam has the sun refused to shine or the light of the stars been sealed off or the earth been a frozen ball of ice.
Jeremiah 4:25-27 "I looked, and there were no people; every bird in the sky had flown away. I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert; all its towns lay in ruins before the LORD, before His fierce anger. This is what the LORD says: 'The whole land will be ruined, though I will not destroy it completely.' "
These scriptures are a two-edged sword, and are describing both the destruction of the First Earth Age, and the Flood of Noah that occurred at the end of the Third Earth Age. To prove it, we have only to go to 1 Corinthians, where Paul clearly tells us that the first man created on the earth was Adam.
1 Corinthians 15:45 "The first man Adam became a living being." NIV
If you believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, then this scripture alone puts to rest the Gap Theory and disproves it completely.
Paul goes on to explain in the Book of Romans that there was no death in the world until Adam sinned. Romans 5:12-14 "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. For before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come." NIV
NOTE: Verse 12 in the preceding paragraph, "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men because all sinned," disproves the Gap Theory.
Jeremiah 4:27 The LORD said "The whole land will be ruined, though I will not destroy it completely," which means to make a full end of man and to kill every man on earth.
Here again, this verse has nothing to do with the so-called Pre-Adamic inhabitants, but instead, deals directly with the Flood of Noah. When God destroyed the Third Earth Age with Noah's Flood, He did not destroy it completely but saved EIGHT PEOPLE: Noah, his wife, Noah's three sons and their three wives, plus two of every unclean animal and seven of every clean animal.
To further disprove the Gap Theory, in Jeremiah 4:28, Jeremiah is not referring to man at all, but to the earth. Jeremiah 4:28 "Therefore, the earth will mourn and the heavens above grow dark."
Remember earlier in Ezekiel 28:14 when God said referring to Lucifer, "You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you," as a part of Lucifer's anointing, God had given Lucifer dominion over the earth, so when Lucifer rebelled because he had domain over the earth, the earth was no longer perfect. So God had to purify the earth, before He could make man out of the clay of the earth and establish man as the authority on the earth. To accomplish this, God destroyed the earth, causing it to become empty, void, formless, dark and covered with ice.
Even though Satan and his fallen angels had access to earth before and after God made man, God had to purify the earth before He could make the first man Adam and give man authority over Satan, his angels, and the earth.
The Gap Theory also teaches that Isaiah describes the destruction of the Pre-Adamic Earth or First Earth Age. Isaiah 24:1-6 "Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes it waste, distorts its surface and scatters abroad its inhabitants."
The problem they have by using this scripture is that they leave out Verse 6, "Therefore, the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left." NKJV
The "and few men are left" in this passage refers to the redeemed when the earth is destroyed by fire, who will enter into salvation and eternal life.
Verse 6 of Isaiah is neither talking about the First Earth Age nor The Third Earth Age, or The Earth Age, we live in today, and refers directly to the destruction of this earth age that will come by fire at the end of the thousand-year Millennium. 2 Peter 3:7 "By the same word, the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of ungodly men." 2 Peter 3:10 "But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." NIV
These verses also refer to the seven-year Tribulation when nuclear and neutron bombs will destroy most of the world's population and few men will be left. In just one hour, one-third of all the people on the earth will be destroyed with nuclear and neutron bombs. And before the seven-year Tribulation is over, one-third of the two-thirds that are left will be killed; to say, nothing of the millions that will die from starvation, famine, disease, radiation fallout, pestilence and martyrdom.
The Gap Theory teaching that there were men on earth before God created Adam is a fantasy at best, created by Satan, and should not be believed. It goes against everything the Bible teaches.

Even though Satan and his fallen angels had access to earth before and after God made man, God had to purify the earth before He could make the first man Adam and give man authority over Satan, his angels, and the earth.
The Gap Theory also teaches that Isaiah describes the destruction of the Pre-Adamic Earth or First Earth Age. Isaiah 24:1-6 "Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes it waste, distorts its surface and scatters abroad its inhabitants."
The problem they have by using this scripture is that they leave out Verse 6, "Therefore, the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left." NKJV
The "and few men are left" in this passage refers to the redeemed when the earth is destroyed by fire, who will enter into salvation and eternal life.
Verse 6 of Isaiah is neither talking about the First Earth Age nor The Third Earth Age, or The Earth Age, we live in today, and refers directly to the destruction of this earth age that will come by fire at the end of the thousand-year Millennium. 2 Peter 3:7 "By the same word, the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of ungodly men." 2 Peter 3:10 "But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." NIV
These verses also refer to the seven-year Tribulation when nuclear and neutron bombs will destroy most of the world's population and few men will be left. In just one hour, one-third of all the people on the earth will be destroyed with nuclear and neutron bombs. And before the seven-year Tribulation is over, one-third of the two-thirds that are left will be killed; to say, nothing of the millions that will die from starvation, famine, disease, radiation fallout, pestilence and martyrdom.
The Gap Theory teaching that there were men on earth before God created Adam is a fantasy at best, created by Satan, and should not be believed. It goes against everything the Bible teaches.
