DID GOD TELL ADAM THE FIRST MAN TO FILL THE EARTH OR TO REPLENISH THE EARTH

In Genesis 1:26, God made man in His own image and in His likeness and told him to rule over the fish of the sea and birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that moved along the ground.

In Genesis 1:28, God also tells us that He blessed man
Adam and told him to be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. To rule over it, including everything on it and in it, which included Satan and his fallen angels. God told Adam, "to be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it." The words "subdue it" included not only the authority over the earth, but over Satan and his fallen angels. Adam failed to use God's authority and as a result, death came to all men through Adam's sin.

IMPORTANT:  The King James Bible which is where almost all Christian Bibles are rooted, replaced the word "fill" with the word "replenish" which is a Latin word derivative from the word "re" meaning again and "plenus" meaning full or to fill again. The Septuagint, the 70 men who translated the Hebrew Bible to Greek mistakenly translated these words to mean replenish, which is incorrect. The Hebrew word is actually fill and simply means, to fill, and does not mean to refill or replenish as some Bibles and bible teachers would lead you to believe.

THE GARDEN OF EDEN

After God made Adam, He planted the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:8-9 "And God planted a garden in the east, in Eden and there He put the man He had formed. And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."  NIV

In Genesis 2:16-17, The LORD commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden,  but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it, you will surely die."

In verse 16, God makes it crystal clear to Adam that if he eats of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he would surely die. This is not to say that he would die immediately, but that the tree was representative of sin that opens the mind and the heart to the knowledge of sin that causes separation from God and allows disease and old age to enter into man which would eventually cause physical death.

In Genesis 2:18, "The LORD said, it is not good for man to live alone. I will make him a helper suitable for him."  Genesis 21-24 "So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man. The man said, 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called "woman," for she was taken out of man.'  For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.' "  NIV

In Genesis 3:1-7, Satan in the form of a serpent came to Eve in the garden and said, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden?' And Eve answer and said, 'We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God said of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, we must not eat or touch it, or you shall surely die.' "

Responding to Eve, Satan replied, "You will not surely die, for God knows that when you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

It is important to note here that although the sin nature was not in man before Adam and Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, ego, pride and jealousy did exist in both Adam and Eve and in all of the angels in heaven, because without ego, pride and jealousy, Eve would have never wanted to be like God or have the knowledge of good and evil. In the same way, if ego, pride and jealousy did not already exist, the angels in heaven would have never rebelled against God because of man.

So, Eve persuaded by ego, pride and jealousy believed Satan's lies and seeing her opportunity to have the knowledge of God, did eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And seeing the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye and also desirable for gaining wisdom, took some of the fruit and gave it to Adam, her husband, and he did eat. After eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Adam and Eve realized they were naked and were ashamed.

God knowing what Adam and Eve had done, came to them and made them garments of skin, which was the first death of anything on earth, and clothed them. Then because of the sin they had committed by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God banished them from the garden. After God banished Adam and Eve from the garden, He placed Cherubim Angels with flaming swords flashing back-and-forth to guard the entrance to the garden. Cherubim are huge Angels and from the descriptions of them given in the Bible are at least 15-feet tall and can have either one or four heads, the feet of a calf, and two or four wings.

The Flood of Noah occurred over 13.75 billion years after God created the earth. After God Banished  Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, He placed Cherubim Angels at the entrance of the Garden to make sure that no humans entered into the garden and ate of the tree of life that would give them eternal life.

WHAT DID SATAN HAVE TO GAIN BY CAUSING ADAM AND EVE TO SIN

Don't forget that Satan called Lucifer before he rebelled against God had authority under God over billions of angels. He not only led their worship and praise to God, he was the most beautiful of all the angels God created.

Lucifer not only walked in the garden of God in heaven with God, he was over the entire universe including earth, and for him to now be on earth outcast down from heaven and have a mere mortal man have authority over him was more than he could bear. So, for Satan to be able to cause man to sin, and be separated from God, and come under his power and authority was all he thought of day and night.

The question then arises: Why did Satan come to Eve in the form of a serpent? Why not a dog, deer, bird or even a lion. Why a serpent? The Bible, as we have said before, is filled with mysteries, and I believe the Bible answers this question in Genesis 3:1, "Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD had made." The word serpent in this verse has two meanings, and represents both Lucifer, called "the serpent" after Adam and Eve sinned, and an animal God created on earth He called a serpent. I believe it all goes back to ego, pride and jealousy, and I am convinced that when God created the first serpent, he was the most beautiful animal God ever created. And Satan being the most beautiful angel could only appear to Eve as the most beautiful and cunning animal on earth.

Another reason I believe Lucifer appeared to Eve in the form of a serpent was the fact that I don't believe the serpent crawled on its belly until after Satan appeared to Eve as a serpent. Genesis 3:14  "Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly and you will eat the dust of earth all the days of your life. This scripture clearly leads me to believe that until Satan appeared to Eve in the form of a serpent, the serpent had a totally different form, could speak, and was probably more of pet than just an animal with two or four legs. Because if you will recall, Eve was not surprised or frightened when the serpent spoke to her.

Willing or not, I believe as punishment of the serpent for being a part of Satan's deception, God cursed the serpent.  Genesis 3:14  "Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat the dust of earth all the days of your life."

Why Adam ate of the fruit of the tree is another unanswered question that we will have to wait to find out. Maybe it was ego, pride, or even jealousy, or maybe it was the knowledge of knowing that by eating of the fruit, Eve was now separated from God. I believe Adam loved Eve so much that he was unable to bear the thought that Eve would not only be separated from God for all eternity but that she would also be separated from him. But no matter what his justification was, he made the decision by his own free will to also eat of the fruit, thus separating both himself, Eve and man from God.

After Adam had eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he immediately lost his authority over the earth and it was given back over to Satan. From that moment to this day, Satan has ruled over the earth and will continue to rule over it until the middle of the Seven-Year Tribulation when Jesus reclaims the earth.

REVIEW OF EARTH AGE ONE, EARTH AGE TWO AND EARTH AGE THREE

A Quick Review:  The First Earth Age was created perfect and to be inhabited, but Satan rebelled and God destroyed the earth with an earthquake and a worldwide flood and it became the Second Earth Age, or The Chaotic Earth Age. Out of the Second Earth Age, God restored the earth and it became the Third Earth Age. In the Third Earth Age, God made Adam and Eve.

After God made Adam and Eve and banished them from the Garden Eden, in time, they had children after which the sons of God, the fallen angels who rebelled with Satan before the destruction of the First Earth Age saw these children, the daughters of men: that they were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. From these unholy marriages were born offspring called Nephilim, half angel-and-half human. The Nephilim were giants like their fathers, the fallen angels, and were looked upon as heroes of old, men of great renown.

Genesis 6:4 tells us that The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also after those days.  Remember this because it will have great importance in a later chapter dealing with the Jews entering the Promise Land of Israel after leaving Egypt.

The marriages between the fallen angels and the daughters of man angered God so much that He vowed to destroyed The Third Earth Age.

Genesis 6:5-20 "The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every thought in their hearts was only evil. The LORD was grieved that He had made man on the earth, and His heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, 'I will wipe out mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth--men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air for I am grieved that I have made them.' "
